Stortz slate ripper (Model 84A out of stock through February 2024) is the best all-around slate ripper: an indispensable tool for removing individual slates or tiles from a roof. You cannot work on a slate roof without a slate ripper. Made in the USA. The 100A Slate Ripper has a heavier handle area where you beat it with a hammer. If we're out of the Model 84A the 100A can be selected instead.

The Stortz Model 95FB slate cutter has a flared base, improved durability, a new punch location, and flared base. 25" long; the cutting blade length is 4". The tough, heat-treated blade is removable and can be replaced, as can the punch. The curved blade gives excellent "bite" on the toughest slate varieties up to 3/8" thick. Made in the USA. 

The Stortz Model 95-A slate cutter is popular and durable, 25 inches long, 5 pounds, 4-inch blade length. Excellent ”bite” on the toughest slate varieties up to 3/8-inch thick. Now with a fortified handle where you hit it with a hammer to punch slates. You can also mount this cutter on a board.
