The Stortz 95-A Slate Cutter for cutting roofing slates is popular and durable, 25 inches long, 5 pounds, 4-inch blade length. Excellent ”bite” on the toughest slate varieties up to 3/8-inch thick. Now with a fortified handle where you hit it with a hammer to punch slates. You can also mount this cutter on a board.

Stortz heat-treated cutting blade also cuts asbestos and mineral fiber shingles (not suitable for ceramic tiles). This cutter also includes side angles that bolt to either side of the blade to support the slates as they are being cut. The angle supports are optional - some roofers prefer them, some don't.
