HD Galvanized Roofing Nails

Free shipping in the continental USA (Alaska and Hawaii not included).

Ideal for repairing older slate roofs. Ideal for installing salvaged slates on new roofs.

Made in Canada.

Although smooth shank copper or stainless steel roofing nails are the preferred nails specified by slate roofing professionals for installing new slate roofs, 99% of old slate roofs do not have copper nails - they have hot-dipped galvanized nails, which are far less expensive than copper and will usually last at least a century. In fact, many century-old nails of these types are in good enough condition to be used again. So even though slate roofing industry professionals prefer to use copper or stainless steel roofing nails on new roof installations, if you're using a good, hot-dipped galvanized nail to fasten slates to a roof, you'll find that they work quite well.
