Snow Dog
Solar Snow Dog snow guard is a 6-inch wide individual pad-style snow guard installed between solar panels that are spaced a minimum of 3/8", in the horizontal joint in the photovoltaic array. Install 2 per panel in portrait panel orientation, 3 per panel in horizontal panel orientation. Acts to hold and break up a sliding snow mass, preventing a roof snow avalanche. Anodized black to blend with solar panels.
Depending on the solar array's size, pitch, and location, Alpine solar snow retention components can be installed alone or, for best performance, in combination with one another.
Our snow guard's can include a three-component solar snow management system recommended for solar arrays in snowy regions with a pitch of 2/12 or greater.
Here are the three components:
- SSG-313 is roof-mounted (175+ Tiger Drylac Powder Coat colors)
- SNOWMAX UNIVERSAL is array-mounted (Pre-Painted Kynar® Stock Color Options)
- SNOW DOG is installed between panels (anodized black to blend with solar panels)
Snow Guard Warehouse Solar Panel Snow Guards are a mitigation system that will allow snow to melt naturally or to be removed as needed without a roof avalanche event. They can be installed on new or retrofitted solar applications and are an ideal solution for solar arrays that shed snow onto important egress points.
