Gough Interlocking-Tile Snow Guards
The Gough Interlocking Book Tile Snow Guard Model SGBK is designed to be installed on new and existing Ludowici Clay "book" roof tile. This snow guard is made of 24oz. cold rolled copper. The upper strap is 32 oz. cold rolled copper. The hook at the top will fit up to 5/8" thick tile.
It is fitted close to the tile so as not to hold up the row of tile above it. It includes two vertical pedestals of double 24 oz. copper making it the strongest, most stable, snow guard on the market. The wide, flat copper base allows the guard to hug close to the tile. Its medium height provides stability.
It weighs 5.7 oz., is 8 3/4" long, has a 3 1/4" wide face, and protrudes up from roof about 1 3/8". Also available in lead-coated copper or powder-coated at additional cost. Custom sizes are available as well.
RAFTER LENGTHS UP TO 16 FEET:
Traditionally, for over 80 years, in residential applications, SnoGuards have been installed 30 inches to 36 inches on center in each row with 3 staggered rows beginning above the outside wall at the eave. Tile roofs may need two additional rows of snow guards for this length rafter.
RAFTER LENGTHS OVER 16 FEET:
The number of rows is increased with rafter lengths over 16 feet and with roof pitches greater than 6:12.
OTHER FACTORS:
Increased snow load in some areas, drifting, vibration, proximity to other buildings, etc., may require additional SnoGuards per square farther up the roof.
